Chudovo Factory of Reinforced Concrete Ties of the Ministry for Transport Construction of the USSR was launched in 1965. In 1967, the factory was handed over to the Ministry for Construction Materials of the USSR.
In 1990, the factory was handed over to the Railway Ministry of the USSR. The factory started to manufacture concrete bars for track switches. In 2001, the production output exceeded the level of 1976, and reached 99.5 cubic meters of precast concrete.
In 2002 to 2004, the factory underwent technical revamp. It started to manufacture ties with ARS fastenings. These fastenings require less metal, which allows economizing at least 15t of metal per each kilometer of railway tracks.
In 2007, the factory reached its peak yield: 104.1 thousand cubic meters of precast concrete.
During its period of operation, the factory manufactures 27.8 million ties, which amounts to over 15 thousand km of railway tracks, and 12,152 sets of concrete bars for track switches.
At present, Chudovo Factory of Reinforced Concrete Ties is a highly efficient enterprise manufacturing the whole range of ties and concrete bars for track switches. Over 540 people work at the factory.
All products manufactured by the factory are certified and fully correspond to railway safety norms.
The factory uses a system of quality management for its production of reinforced concrete ties and concrete bars for track switches, according to the requirements of GOST ISO 9001-2001 (ISO 9001:2001).
